Despite holding a degree in accounting, Pam has deliberately chosen to pursue a career as a movement teacher. With over 23 years of experience in teaching mind/body movement, Pam is committed to lifelong learning. She actively participates in both teaching and attending numerous training facilities across the United States and abroad. Pam consistently engages in workshops and courses to enhance her understanding and approach to pilates and GYROTONIC® exercise. She recognizes the importance of updating her knowledge and staying informed about the latest training techniques.

Pam's certifications include Body Control Pilates® from the UK and comprehensive certification in STOTT Pilates®, which covers specialized coursework on Injuries and Special Populations, Pre/Post Pregnancy, Scoliosis, and Osteoporosis. She also holds a Pilates for Golf Specialist certification. Pam has developed and taught an Osteopilates class for 14 years, specifically designed for individuals with osteopenia and osteoporosis.

While residing in the UK, Pam discovered the GYROTONIC® method, which greatly intrigued her. After achieving recognition as a Certified teacher, she was invited to become an Authorized Pre-Trainer for both the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods and eventually a Master Trainer of GYROTONIC® system. Pam takes pleasure in sharing her knowledge with teachers who aspire to deepen their skills and understanding.

In her preparation for a Fascial Movement workshop, Pam came across a book by Martha Peterson titled "Move without Pain." This discovery sparked her curiosity about neuroscience and the brain's plasticity and its relationship to chronic pain.

With her extensive knowledge of movement, Pam adeptly works with a wide range of clients, including those with musculoskeletal injuries and elite athletes. Her expertise enables her to enhance their performance, stamina, agility, and flexibility. Pam firmly believes that everyone has the potential to optimize their health, and she actively supports her students' self-empowerment and transformative journey.

Marita

Marita, an experienced international teacher and coach with over 25 years of expertise, had a successful career as a competitive dancer before transitioning to Peak Pilates in 2004. She boasts a comprehensive and professional certification from Peak Pilates, a renowned international Pilates education company. Marita is also a certified teacher recognized by the Pilates Method Alliance. To enhance her knowledge, she has recently completed advanced courses such as Neurofascia Bridge I, II, and III, delving into the fascinating field of Neurofascia—a connected system of nerves and fascia that spans the entire body.

In her pursuit of understanding human body movements, Marita has expanded her appreciation through Thomas Myers' "Anatomy Trains." Moreover, she has dedicated herself to deepening her comprehension of the Restoration of Fascia through Awareness and Movement. The Neurofascia orchestrates our movement, fluid dynamics, and inflammatory response by dynamically coordinating mechanics and signaling. Disruptions in these functions are key contributors to chronic pain, motion restriction, and nerve entrapment.

By seamlessly integrating Fascia and Pilates, Marita excels at enhancing body alignment, mobility, and overall well-being. She offers private Pilates sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, during which she can provide personalized guidance. Additionally, Marita conducts a Structural Pilates class utilizing Pilates equipment every Tuesday at 8:30, allowing participants to experience the benefits of Pilates in a group setting.

Paula

Paula's Pilates journey began 18 years ago when she became a fully trained and certified Stott Pilates instructor. Even before that, she practiced Pilates and found a strong passion for it. This enthusiasm sparked her desire to learn more and eventually teach pilates.

Paula embarked training with Stott Pilates, taking every course available. She participated in numerous workshops, becoming certified in all levels and equipment.

During this intensive training period, Paula faced a significant personal challenge—she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, one that affects just one in a million people. This diagnosis led her on a search for medical professionals who could help. After consulting many doctors, she found two specialists at UPMC Pittsburgh who guided her through extensive surgeries and rehabilitation.

Throughout this journey, Paula never stopped practicing Pilates. It became a crucial part of her physical and mental recovery, and my knowledge of Pilates significantly aided her healing process.

As she regained my strength, she began working with her own clients, primarily through word of mouth. Paula's clientele is diverse, ranging in age from their 40s to their 80s, and includes individuals with various injuries, issues, and special needs. Teaching and helping people through Pilates is her passion, and her own experiences have equipped her with unique insights and empathy for those she works with.

Paula continues to pursue continuing education each year to maintain her certification and stay updated with the latest in Pilates training.
